Love me, Logan 2 #2

I went in my bedroom. Remembering the Wi-Fi isn't set yet, I decided to tell Logan that I can't go on MSN. Ten seconds after the text message was sent, there was a call from him. With total hesitation, I picked it up.

'Hello?' I started.

'Hey Karen,'

'Hey,'

There was a short pause, 'We'll start over right?'

'I guess if you wanna,'

'No, no. If you don't wanna start over that's fine.'

'It's up to you,'

'It's up to YOU.'

There was a long pause, I stopped biting my lip, 'Fine, I think we should start over...'

'Thanks, Karen.'

'So, how's school and everyone else?'

'Everything's fine, Jess has been missing you lately. Seth was looking for you too.'

'Seth? He still exist?'

'Yeah. Are you gonna come back here sometime?'

'Zack promised me that once a month he'll take me there,'

'Oh, cool.'

There was a pretty long silence after that, feeling awkward, I sat on the couch near me and twirled my hair and played with the buttons on my shirt.

'Why Zack?'

'Uh, he felt sorry for me since I was really homesick.'

'No, I meant why did you choose Zack?' Logan started to sound angry.

'Excuse me?'

'You loved me first,'

'Well you didn't.'

'But I do now!'

'But I don't. Logan, how are we gonna start over when you're like that?'

'Sorry, sorry. I'm really pissed today. So much homework and mids are coming, my dog just died, it's been hard for me. I loved Iggy so much.'

'Iggy died? I'm so sorry.'

'Yeah, it's okay I guess...'

'Hey, hey, I have to go. Sorry Logan. We'll talk sometime. I'll tell you when I'm back.'

'Bye,'

'Bye.' I hung up. I didn't really have to go. I just felt so awkward I wouldn't bother talking to him. I feel guilty too but I don't feel like talking to him when he's in that kind of mood. I jumped on my bed and called Jess. No answer. I tried calling her again. No answer. She's probably asleep? But it's only nine. Maybe tomorrow. I played Snake on my phone for a little bit but without realizing I fell asleep.

The next morning, since everything felt new, I woke up at five. I noticed mom cooking some pancakes. I got confused, was I gone that long? Mom's already cooking and the dining table was set. But heh, I wouldn't care.

'Hai mom.' I said pulling a chair and sitting on it.

'Morning Karen. Plans for today?'

'Yeah, I'm helping Zack babysit his cousins.'

'Oh. You and Zack is so cute together. Have you contacted any old friends recently?'

'Um yea no.'

'Huh?'

'No old friends contacted recently.'

'Oh, okay then. But just remember, you're going to find new people here to be your friends. Wherever you are, don't ever forget about your old friends. You won't know if there will be a time that your new friends would leave you.'

'Sure thing mom. Where's dad?'

'He's out to buy groceries.'

'Oh. Kyle? Wait no let me guess.'

'Asleep.' Mom and I said it at the same time. When there is no school, Kyle is a total pig. After dinner, he would sleep directly. Unless if there are homework or some project. But usually he would sleep directly.

'I'm gonna find his room.' I got up and pushed back my seat and walked to a room that I totally expected to be Kyle's room. The one with a big sheet of paper with a messy hand writing that says "DO NOT ENTER OR KYLE WILL BRING HELL TO YOUR TINY ASSES". I don't know why dad didn't do anything about it. I read it and not caring if he will bring me hell or not I busted in. Kyle's room was...tidy. I mean usually there will be video games, game magazines, his school books and his batman collection. I felt really weird entering his room in peace. Before at least something has to get caught on my foot. So I just wanted to see what Kyle's room would look like. Not dirty and gross yet. I went back to the door and I felt something hit my head. Kyle threw his Batman plushie at me. 'What up gangster?'

'Get out. I'm busy dreaming and would not like to be disturbed.'

'Whatever.' I went out the door.

'CLOSE THE DOOR!' Kyle yelled.

'Yes master.' I closed the door gently. 'Jerk.' I said walking away.

'I heard that Karen!' Kyle shouted again. I ignored and decided to have breakfast.

'Hey dad,' I noticed dad was home.

'Morning Karen,' Dad patted my head. I took a plate and mom placed one pancake on it.

'Syrup?' Mom offered.

'Yes please.' I stuck my plate out and watched mom poured syrup on my pancakes. I took a seat and started eating. When I was almost done, I heard my phone ringing from my room. I raced there before it stopped ringing. I picked it up directly. 'Hello?'

'Karen, I'll pick you up at 12 okay?' I noticed it was Zack.

'Oh okay,' I looked at the clock on my phone and it was 11:30 already! 'Oh, crap okay.'

'Is there something wrong?'

'No, no it's fine. I just woke up hehe. But 12 is fine I guess.' I said.

'Oh, okay see you later. Love you.'

'Love you too,' I hung up. I ran out of my room but I noticed a wall to my right. I remembered my old house, the bathroom was on the right. 'Mom where's the bathroom?'

'Go pass Kyle's room or you could use the one in mine.'

'I'll use yours.' I rushed in mom's room and went in the bathroom directly. I saw my toothbrush laying there on the rack. I took my clothes off and went in the showers. When I was done, clean and clothed, Zack was outside already. Perfect timing. I saw Kyle jumping on the couch.

'Where you going?' he asked me with his hair bouncing up and down.

'Zack's house. Hey mom I might be gone 'till night.' I ran back to my room and took my jacket. I fast-walked to the door.

'Stay safe honey,' said mom. Dad waved at me.

'Yeah Karen better make sure you better not go preggo!'

'Shut the hell up Kyle.' I opened the front door and closed it. I heard mom yelling Kyle's name from outside. All I did was laugh softly. 'Hey Zack!' I said brightly. I saw James, Jay and Fera in the back seat. I waved at them, 'Hey guys!'. I went inside the car and sat on the front passenger seat.

'Good morning gorgeous,' Zack said and pecked me a little. I waved at the kids in the back. Everyone waved but Fera. She rolled her eyes at me. My smile faded a little. But oh well she's only four.

'Where are your parents now?'

'They went out of town?'

'Pft, they didn't take you with them?'

'Yeah, they would but they're trying me. They wanna see if I could take care of three kids for a day.'

'But they know I'm helping right?'

'Yeah,'

'Can we please get going?' Fera said.

'Sure thing,' Zack started the engine and we went moving.

When we reached his house, Jay and Fera went out first and ran inside. James stepped off the car and Zack picked him up.

'Why did you pick him up?' I asked him.

'Because I'm gonna have to get ready when we get married.'

I laughed, 'I'm only 15. Long way to go,'

'Pfft, I know. I was only kidding. I just felt sorry for the guy.'

'Oh psh Zack,' I laughed at him and we walked in the house. We basically did nothing for two hours. Me, Zack, Jay and Fera was watching Up while James was drawing. Basically, for two hours we just watched a movie. Then Fera, Jay and James got sleepy so it was nap time for them and free time for me and Zack.

'The midgets are asleep. What do you wanna do?'

'Midgets? Be nice Zack psh. I don't know what do you wanna do?'

'Wanna hang around the pool?'

'Sure.' We sat by the pool with our legs in the water. 'I go to the same school as you right?'

'Uh yeah I guess,'

'What school?'

'Greenwick International,'

'Which one is the building?' I asked. Zack got up and took my hand.

'Come on, I'll show you.'

'What about the kids?' I got up.

'Don't worry.' Zack pulled me. We ran up to the third floor. There was a few doors. He took me to the one in the middle.

'Is it some rich kid school?' I asked him. Zack held on the door handle.

'I don't know you tell me,' Zack opened the door and there was this massive building standing there.

'Def a rich kid school. I don't know if I could survive there,'

'Nah you will. The people are awesome there. As long as you're nice to them,'

'Fine. Zack's awesome.' I rolled my eyes at him. Zack chuckled at me.

'Greenwick. I hate the color green.'

'Don't worry, school colors are blue, gold and white.'

'Shouldn't it be called Bluewick instead?'

'You're not funny Karen.'

'Explain the fact you're smiling,'

'Hey, smiling doesn't mean I'm laughing!'

'You're laughing now!'

'No I'm not!'

'You're not funny Zack,'

'Oh I am funny. You always laugh at my words.'

'Fine I do, you're not funny now!'

'JAMES!' shouted Fera so loudly. Me and Zack raced to the second floor to see what happened. James was crying, some of his hair snipped and a big red cut on his arm and Fera was bitching at him. Wow, I still can't believer the fact she's only four. 'Zack! Look at what that coconut head did to me while I was sleeping!' Me and Zack noticed that there were airplanes on her arms drawn by James.

'Fera what did you do to James?!' Zack yelled. I ran towards to James to check how is he.

'He started it Zack! Karen get out of my face I need to yell at James some more!'

'No! You've done enough to him!' This isn't the first time the girl pissed at me. Fera took her scissors and scratched my arm. I yelled in pain but managed to stand the pain.

'FERA! That's my girlfriend!' Zack ran towards me and took my arm. I was whining in pain. I noticed blood flowing out the cut. 'Fera get back in the room now.' Fera stuck her tongue out, 'NOW!' Zack yelled. Fera turned back and marched to the room. 'Karen are you okay?'

'I'm, fine. It's James you're supposed to care about. He has a few cuts on his arms,' even if I'm still in pain, I managed to support James arm so Zack can take a look.

'Ouch,' Zack said softly as James cry is still going on. 'What are we gonna do?'

'Do you have a first aid kit?'

'I think I do in the kitchen yeah.' Zack carried James and I walked down supporting my right arm. James was first. Zack took out some gauze bandages, scissors, antiseptic wash, tape, and a cloth to wipe up the blood. He washed the cut with the wash, wrapped the cut with bandages, and taped it. He had to do it three times since there were three cuts. And it took a while because he had problems with the bandage. When he was done he picked up James and made him sit on the couch and turned the TV on. He walked back to the kitchen to fix mine. When he was halfway done, my phone rang.

'Oh great,' I swung my other arm back and took out my phone from my back pocket. It took me a while since it was on the other side of jeans. The song Rocketeer was playing until I picked it up. 'Hello?'

'Hey Karen,'

'Jess! How are you?'

'I'm good, and you? How's everything? Have you started school?'

'I'm good and no I'm starting next week. How's school?'

'It's, heh okay. Hey, you wanna see Maroon 5 net Saturday?'

'For real?!'

'Yeah!'

'Oh my God yes! Where is it?'

'Fairsville, 12 March, 7 P.M.!'

'That's where I live! Where?'

'That stadium thing in wherever you are,'

'Oh my God cool! Won't the school shut down this Friday? The renovation thing they're gonna do to the roofs?'

'Totally,'

'Wanna sleep over?!'

'YES!'

'Okay, but how will you get here?'

'I don't know,'

'Jess hold on,' I pulled my phone off my ear and whispered to Zack, 'Zack, could you take me to see Jess? This Friday?'

'Uh, well, I think I can. School ends early at that day so probably yea.'

'Oh cool, love you!' I pulled my phone back to my ear, 'Jess, Zack's gonna take me to see you this Friday. I love you Zack!'

'Aww! I love Zack too! Yay! Oh, Karen I have to go, I'll see you when I see you. Bye!'

'Bye Jessica.' Then she hung up. 'Thank's a lot Zack.'

'Anything for you. Your arm's done and I think James is asleep.' Zack said looking at James. I turned back and he was asleep. 'I think everyone else is asleep too.'

'Yeah. Just asking, when are your cousins coming back to wherever they're from? I mean they're here to stay right?'

'Yeah, they're coming back tonight actually.'

'Oh, well that's sad. I can't imagine how bitchy will your aunt be when she finds out what Fera did.'

'Yeah. I'm telling her anyways.'

'Meanie,'

'Hey you secretly agree. I know that.'

'I guess I do. I really hate Fera. I still can't believe the fact that she's only four. I mean, she watches too much TV. What do you let her watch? Resident Evil?'

'She's only been here for like, five days and I haven't watched any thriller, action, horror, or those kinds of movies.'

'Well she's gotta have influence from someone. She hangs out with Jay a lot right?'

'And his friends,'

'Maybe she hangs out with them too much?'

'Oh! I just remembered. Once, Jay did a movie night with his friends and they were watching Zombieland and Fera was there.'

'Isn't that obvious. I watched that movie it was disgusting.'

'Nahh, I thought it was pretty cool.'

'Oh pfft no! It's too much gore.'

'I love gore!'

'That's something we don't have in common.' I winked at him.

'I guess. And yeah I guess thats how Fera got so violent. I mean the movie's all about cutting and killing. Such a shame for a young, rotten mind.'

'Yeah. Rotten mind psh.' I laughed a little.

'What do you wanna do?'

'I don't know, what do you?'

'I don't know,'

'Wanna watch something? I have a TV in my room so the midgets can't go in.'

'What are we gonna do to James?'

'I'll carry him to my mom's room.'

'Oh okay. Zack and I put back the first aid kit stuff back in, I placed it in a rack and Zack picked up James and carried him to his mom's room. I went in Zack's room and just sat on the bed. When Zack came, he took out one whole tray of DVDs and threw it on the bed. It looks heavy.

'What do you wanna watch?'

'Uh, what do you have?'

'What genre?'

'Anything. What's your favorite?'

'Wanna watch a horror movie?'

'Uh, okay. What movie?'

'How scary do you want it?'

'Scary but not that scary but not that cheesy too.'

'Silent hill?'

'No, that's boring.'

'House of Wax?' Zack threw the disc at me.

'What's this?'

Zack looked cheeky and looked at me, 'I'll show you.' He took the disc away from me and inserted it in the DVD played. He turned on the TV, switched off the lights, closed the curtains and sat behind me. I looked at him with the you're-being-a-little-bit-too-dramatic look. He just smiled at me. When the movie started, it didn't scare me. Basically six people going to a place that isn't on the map and goes in a house with people's heads covered in wax and all. But when it came to the one who fell for the trap and fell in hot wax, I had to yell and automatically hugged the person closest to me. If my face was a computer, it would make a 'x[' face and Zack's face is like 'x]'. And there was a lot of scary stuff in the movie but I force myself not too look like a loser. I succeeded and failed. Mostly fail. Zack could only laugh a little at me. When it was another scary part, I was biting my finger, Zack chuckled when he saw me like that.

'What?' I took out my finger and stared at him.

'Nothing, you're cute.' He did another soft laugh again.

'Well, why did you have to "show" me this freaking movie?'

'Hey you asked first,'

'Well you could've told me it was this scary!'

'Sorry Kaaaaaaaaaaaaaren. Do you still love meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee?'

'Yes, I do.' I got up and ran to him to hug him. Suddenly the door opened and Zack's mom was there!

'Oh, hello Karen. Uh, Zack, your aunt and cousins are leaving, would you come down stairs to say goodbye? I'll give you a minute.' She closed the door but before that she was looking at us with an awkward face. Me and Zack turned red immediately. I let go and he groomed himself.

'Coming?' He asked me.

'Yeah.'

'I'll turn the TV off first.' He turned to the TV and switched the DVD played and TV off. He placed an arm on his hip and I put mine through and we walked down laughing at stuff. We saw Jay, James and Fera. Fera was being bitched by her mom and I would laugh but I can save it. 'You're going already Jay?'

'Yeah,' Jay put on a sad face.

'When are you coming back?'

'I don't know, but when I come back can you take me for ice cream at that place again?' Jay looked up at Zack smiling.

'Sure thing brother.' Zack smiled at him and messed up his hair. Jay groomed his hair and turned to me.

'You're going home Jay?'

'Yeah,'

'Where do you live?'

'Saint Mark,'

'Oh, three hours from here?'

'Three sleepy hours,' Jay smiled at me showing his two bottom front teeth gone. I saw his cheeks really red.

'Well, I'll see you when you come back.'

'Me too,' Jay said to me, his cheeks gone even redder. Zack mouthed a 'she's mine' to Jay. But Jay ignored. I walked to James, I bent down to get a better look at him.

'Hey, James.'

'Haiiiiiiiiiiiii.' He said it that long.

'I'm gonna miss you,'

He didn't reply but he only gave a nod at me. I'm taking that as a 'Me too.' Who doesn't miss me? HEHEHEHE. Pfft. Gah just kidding. He hugged me and I hugged back. I got up and Zack talked to James for a while. I just watched Fera being bitched by her mom. Please, please, please let me laugh! But then my smile broke when Fera pointed at me. Then I saw her mom saying something like, 'go to her'. Fera walked to me with hesitation. I tucked some of my hair behind my ear. I just smiled.

'Sorry Karen.' Fera said looking at the floors of the house.

'Oh, sorry for what?' I played stupid.

'For everything.'

'I don't get it?' I played stupid again.

'For cutting your arm with scissors,'

'WHAT?!' Yelled her mom. 'Fera Patricia Damons, is that what you did?!' OOOOOH. I tried not to laugh. Zack stood up with James in his arms and looked at me and laughed a little. 'Fera Patricia Damons tell me the truth!'

'Yes, mommy.'

'You lied to mommy before?'

'Yes I did.'

'Fera Patricia Damons, for two months there will be no TV for you! No Nintendo DS, no Wii, no PSP no anything but your books!'

'Mommy that's not fair!'

'Tell me why it isn't fair!'

'James started it!'

'What did he do?'

'He drew airplanes on me when I was sleeping!' Fera pointed at James. Bad move since that was the time when her mom realized the bandages on him.

'Fera! That's it! No TV, DS, Wii and PSP for you for three months!'

'Mommy!'

'Enough! You're going to spend more time with your books starting from now!' Her mom pointed at Fera's face and Fera look really sad and guilty. 'You lied to mommy and disappointed mommy enough for today okay Fera? Now say good bye to your aunt and Zack and don't forget to say sorry to James and Karen!' Fera turned around and said sorry to James first. James only stuck his tongue out at her and me and Zack laughed. Then with even more anger she turned to me and said sorry again. I just smiled and showed her my palm. That is all. Everyone went outside and Fera went in the car first, then James then Jay. Their mom hugged Zack and his mom then waved at me and got in the car. When the engine was just about to start, Jay went out of the car and ran to me to hug me.

'I'm going to miss you!' Jay cried and hugged me so tight around my thighs. I hugged him a little and laughed a bit.

'I'll miss you too.' I said to him. I gave him a kiss on the cheek and he got so red he looked like he was about to faint! Zack helped him walk back to the car at first then Jay was able to walk on his own. The car started moving and everyone waved at it. When it was completely out of sight, 'weird.' I said.

'I know right,' Zack said.

'Cute kid,' I said and laughed a little.

'Zack you're not the only one competing for Karen.' His mom winked at both of us and started walking to the door.

'Hey, Karen's already officially mine mom.' I just laughed a laughter of shyness a little.

'Cookies?' His mom offered.

'Oh, me!' He ran inside. When he was almost reaching the door, he stopped and turned to me. Come on! he mouthed. I fast-walked in and laughed and took his hand.
